With high learning efficiency, your grades will soar. In daily learning, we always face the following problem: We cannot solve a problem even though the teacher has explained a similar one in class. We totally forget a knowledge point even though we have put down it carefully on our notes. If you are suffering a similar situation, be careful! You may have been trapped by “the fake study”. So, how to tackle this problem?
① Your eyes have gotten the knowledge, but your brain has not. When we browse the posts sharing some useful skills, under the posts we may always notice such comments: My eyes have gotten it. What does this mean? It actually means: My brain has not gotten it, so actually I have not mastered it, hhh. In learning there is a similar situation. Teachers have their own trains of thought. In class, since we always follow our teachers, it is natural for us to mistake their thoughts for our own. However, the complete mastery calls for organisation, summarisation and analysis of teachers’ thoughts. This will help your brain absorb the knowledge.
② Simplify your notes instead of complicating them. Many students get used to taking notes, and have made lots of notes for every subject. They seem to be careful learners; actually, however, many of them just make copies of the textbooks. They regard themselves as conscientious, but these efforts cannot help them understand the knowledge thoroughly.
You should first complicate a book, then simplify it. What’s the meaning? To complicate means to take notes about the contents hard to understand. It seems like the book has been added more contents. To simplify means to understand every knowledge points and then summarise and analyse the book to make it a part of your own knowledge bank. You just absorb the key information, so it seems like the book has been simplified. Taking notes is similar to this. Instead of copying textbooks blindly, you need to summarise and reproduce the knowledge in your notes.
